Moises Alou blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI at the ballpark as the Jefferson
Park Penguins won a thriller over the Tombstone Huckleberries in, 8 to
5.
Jefferson Park came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the
9th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded,
Derek Jeter keyed the rally when he doubled. After another out, Alou stepped
up to the plate and he drew a walk. Manny Ramirez then lofted a three-run
bomb (his 33rd of the season) resulting in an exciting win for Jefferson Park
and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Jefferson Park had
12 hits for the afternoon while Tombstone had 8.
Ricky Bottalico(3-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Brian Bruney(2-1) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 3 hits
and 1 walk in 1 and 1/3 innings.
